Impact

The UF Medical Guild is rooted in a long-standing tradition of philanthropy. Since 1968, we have contributed more than $3 million to support UF Health and the communities it serves.

Philantropy: A Mission of the UF Medical Guild

Philanthropy is a core mission of the UF Medical Guild. Through fundraising, grants, awards, and educational support, the Guild contributes to UF Health, UF Health Shands, and the Gainesville and Alachua County communities.

Our philanthropic efforts focus on supporting patient care, wellness programs, education, and community health initiatives.


Special Projects Grants

The UF Medical Guild awards Special Projects Grants to support programs that promote wellness or enhance patient care.

These grants are available to:

  • UF Health programs
  • University of Florida units
  • Local nonprofit community health organizations

Projects must serve:

  • UF Health populations, or
  • Residents of Gainesville and Alachua County

Awards, Endowments, and Scholarships

The Guild supports medical and biomedical education through:

  • Awards
  • Endowments
  • Scholarships

These funds benefit students and programs within UF Health and the University of Florida College of Medicine, helping advance education, research, and professional development.


Mini Medical School

The UF Medical Guild partners with the UF Center for Precollegiate Education and Training (CPET) to support Mini Medical School.

This program:

  • Provides training on current biomedical topics
  • Serves secondary science, health, and vocational educators across Florida
  • Promotes community education and awareness of health and medical science
