2026 UFMG Special Projects Grant Application Criteria — Applications open May 1

Award Amount

  • Grants range from $2,000 to $10,000.

Project Requirements

To be eligible, projects must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be directly related to wellness or patient care.
  • Benefit more than half of the intended population.
  • Serve individuals in Gainesville or Alachua County.
  • Be submitted by a nonprofit organization.

Ineligible Expenses

The following items may not be included in grant requests:

  • Costs already covered by operating budgets or staff salaries.
  • Printing, copying, or mailing expenses.
  • Food served at events.
  • Facility charges, insurance, or travel expenses.
  • Research studies without Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval.
  • Proof of IRB approval must be submitted when applying for research funding.

Grant Reporting Requirement

  • Successful applicants will be required to submit a report detailing how grant funds were spent.

Important Information for UF Health Departments

UF Health Pediatrics and UF Health Rehabilitation Services applicants should note the following:

  • Applications will be received by UF Medical Guild.
  • Applications will be forwarded to the appropriate department for review.
  • Department administration will review applications and determine allocation of funds.
  • UF Medical Guild will award a lump-sum grant to selected departments.
