In celebration of 50 years of continued financial support for the UF College of Medicine Graduate Education Research Symposium, the UF Medical Guild established the Thomas C. Rowe, PhD Advancement to Candidacy Award. This award honors the Guild’s long‑time friend and colleague, Dr. Thomas Rowe.

Long‑Term Support for Graduate Students
Previously, this award was supported through annual contributions from the Guild. By endowing the fund, the Guild has ensured lasting support for future students.
Each year, the award recognizes and supports three to four third‑year Biomedical Sciences graduate students who have successfully completed their qualifying examinations.
Commitment to Graduate Education
Through this gift, the UF Medical Guild continues to support the mission of the Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences. The program provides predoctoral education that prepares students for careers as experimentalists and scholars across a wide range of fields.
