The Annual Gift Stop Meeting and Volunteer Luncheon will be held on November 12th at the Hotel Eleo at The University of Florida. We will enjoy a delicious Mediterranean buffet planned by Linda Allegra and Caroline Yale at this new venue, while we celebrate the combined efforts of our Gift Stop volunteers and Lori’s staff. Gift Stop Treasurer, Caroline Yale, will present the financial status of The Gift Stop, our successful non-profit organization.
Teaser: During our annual business meeting the Finance Committee will announce the largest distribution (EVER!) from the operation of The Gift Stop. Checks will be given to Shands Teaching Hospital and Clinics, the Shands Auxiliary, and the UF Medical Guild. The amount awarded to the Auxiliary and the UF Medical Guild is determined by the number of hours members from each organization volunteer in the shops and on our board of directors.
The more hours logged by Medical Guild members, the greater the proportion of profits that will be directed for projects which benefit UF Health. Stay tuned for the exact distribution figures in the next UPDATE!
Consider joining our Gift Stop team to experience the many benefits, including meeting new people and getting discounts on specialty merchandise, all while adding to the philanthropic efforts of the Medical Guild! If you are interested in contributing to this volunteer effort, please contact Suzi Graham at: kitlergraham@gmail.com
We cannot emphasize enough that we would be thrilled with any number of hours you could contribute! Look at your schedules and see if there are any times that you might be able to help out in our shops! Our goal is to make volunteering more flexible for everyone! It is always great to be involved in a win-win situation!!
