In April 2026, the University of Florida Medical Guild of Gainesville, Inc. has committed a $125,000 endowed gift to support the UF Mini Medical School Program, strengthening educational outreach through the UF College of Medicine.
The gift is administered by the University of Florida Foundation, Inc. on behalf of the University of Florida and will provide ongoing operational support for the Mini Medical School program housed in the UF Center for Precollegiate Education and Training.
Supporting Lifelong Learning in Biomedical Science
Income generated from the endowment will be used to support the Mini Medical School program, which provides educational experiences in current biomedical science topics.
The UF Medical Guild expressed that the gift reflects its legacy commitment to education, particularly programs designed for secondary science, health, and vocational educators. These initiatives help educators stay informed about advancing medical knowledge and translate it into classroom learning.
Purpose of the Mini Medical School Program
The Mini Medical School program is designed to increase understanding of medicine and health sciences by connecting participants with faculty expertise, research developments, and real‑world applications of biomedical science.
By providing stable, long‑term funding, the endowment ensures the program can continue to operate and grow for years to come.
